Hospice Care in Las Vegas
Las Vegas Hospice Care
When someone you love is seriously ill, the goal changes. Comfort comes first. Time at home matters more than another trip to the hospital.
Siena Hospice provides hospice care in Las Vegas. Our nurses, aides, social workers, and chaplains care for patients where they live and support the family around them. Care focuses on comfort, pain and symptom relief, and time together, not on curing the illness.
You do not have to sort this out alone. Call us at 702-389-2009 and we will talk it through with you. There is no obligation.
What hospice care is
Hospice is care for a person whose illness is no longer responding to treatment aimed at a cure, and who is expected to have six months or less if the illness follows its usual course. A doctor certifies that estimate. It is a guideline for eligibility, not a deadline. Care continues as long as the person remains eligible, and some patients stay on hospice longer.
Choosing hospice does not mean giving up care. It means the care changes: comfort, dignity, and support for the whole family.
When to call
Call when any of these sound familiar:
- Hospital or emergency room visits are becoming frequent
- Pain, breathlessness, or other symptoms are hard to control
- Your loved one is sleeping much more and eating less
- Everyday tasks like bathing, dressing, and walking take more help than before
- Treatment is causing more burden than benefit, and your loved one wants to be at home
- You are a caregiver and you are worn out
Calling early gives a family more support, not less. Many families tell us they wish they had called sooner. A call is a conversation, not a commitment.

Where care happens
Most care happens where the patient lives: at home, with family, in assisted living, or in a nursing facility. Visits, medications for comfort, and equipment such as a hospital bed are arranged by the hospice team.
What it costs
For patients who qualify, the Medicare hospice benefit covers the hospice care related to the terminal illness. Medicaid and most private insurance also cover hospice. We check coverage with you before care starts, so there are no surprises.
